  • Things you are saying at 16 months:
no no no
nana (banana)
jeh jeh (big sister)
meh meh (little sister)
dada
mama
gan gan (cookie)
gon gon (grandpa)
shoe
go go go
down
a
a-gen (again)
What you like to do:
Follow your sister around. EVERYWHERE.
Flip through fashion magazines.
Flip through books. If one of the pages has pictures of food, you like to stop on that page, pretend to pick up a piece of food and feed it to anyone near you.
When we’re reading Good Night Gorrilla, you like to “unlock the gates” on each page and you laugh hysterically when we get to the page with the pair of eyes.
When you kiss someone you like to say, “Aaaaaaaaaaaaaw,” and smile.
You love dancing and tapping your feet to music.
You love spinning until you get dizzy.

  • Things you said this weekend:
“I will take care of mei mei.”
“Mei mei doesn’t talk. She’s a baby.” (When we asked Madeline a rhetorical question.)
“I want to sit on your lap silly.” (When Daddy asked you to sit in your own chair.)
“Pick it up yourself.” (When Daddy asked you to pick up the coloring book you dropped)
“Look Mama, it’s a baby strawberry.” (It really did look like a strawberry.)
“Look, my legs are an H!” (You said after you laid a towel across your knees)
“S - T - O - P.” (You recited when we pointed to a stop sign).
“That’s YUCK!”
“Bitsy bitsy spider went up the water spout.”
Your all-time favorite song to sing right now is the theme song from the Wonder Pets.

  • "It’s ok, I’m sharing."

    - Audrey

Tonight, your sister yanked the water bottle out of your hands and instead of yelling in protest, you said, “It’s ok, I’m sharing.”

  • Love that little (well, not so little anymore) wispy curl of hers. I thought it would straighten out as it got longer, but there it is, still curling. Lately you’ve been: Climbing. On chairs. On the coffee table.  On the dining room table. EVERYWHERE.  You’re also starting to repeat things you hear: “Nih, nih.” (night, night). And you love dancing.  You do this side to side toe tapping number every time you hear music.
